How to Submit the Passport Application form Online ?

The Next step is get yourself Registered Online at the Passport Seva Portal by Logging on to the  (www.passportindia.gov.in). After that, you have to click on the Register Link under the Heading Online Application filling and proceed for the Registration process.

The Registration Process in simple and requires you to fill the "User Registration form" .This form can be filled easily by following the On-Screen Instructions. After that, you have to click on the REGISTER Button and thereafter, a conformation email will be sent to you that needs to be confirmed by Logging on to the Specified Email address.




After successful conformation, your account will be activated and after that you can now proceed for Filling the Application form Online

Now you have Registered yourself Passport Seva Portal and also got all the Required Documents, the Next step is to Submit or Fill the Fresh Passport Application form Online. There are two ways in which, you can Submit the Passport Application form Online, you can either of it, whichever you find convenient

(I) E-Form Submission (Recommended)

 OR

(II) Online Form Submission 


Now, we will discuss in Detail, about Submitting the Application form by Both these ways one and one




(I) How to Apply for Fresh Passport Using E-Form Submission ?

 

1) Download the E-form, from the Passport Seva Portal ( www.passportindia.gov.in). The form can be Downloaded by Clicking on the Link  "Download e-Form" given under User Assistance on the left side of the page OR You can Download the E-form Directly from this link
2) The E-form is a Editable (*.pdf) File that contains Particulars to be filled.After filling the Details, you have to click on the VALIDATE and SAVE Button. This will generate an XML File that must be preserved as it is required for Uploading after some time.
3)Now, you have to login to the Passport Seva Portal, with the User ID and Password that was generated in the Registration process
4) After successful, login, now you have to upload the XML File that was generated in the Step No. 2.

5) Now, you have to Upload the Supporting Documents in (*.pdf) format (Optional) and even you can submit these documents at passport Seva Kendra.

6) After that, you can click on the Manage Appointment Link and Schedule an appointment at your Local Passport Seva Kendra.

7)After Scheduling the Appointment, you have to print the the Application Receipt containing the Application Reference Number (ARN)/Appointment Number, as it is needed at the time of appointment.

8)Now, you have to visit the Passport Seva Kendra on the Scheduled Date and Time along with all the Required Documents in Original as well as photocopy. Remember to take along with you the Application Receipt containing the Appointment Number.

(II) How to Apply for Fresh Passport Using Online form Submission ?


If, you do not Like the above way of applying for the Fresh passport, then there is another way of Submitting the Fresh Passport Application form Online be following the below mentioned steps:

1)Log on to the Passport Seva Portal (www.passportindia.gov.in) by using the Registration Details Like (User ID and Password) 
2) After successful login, click on the link marked as "Apply for Fresh Passport / Reissue of Passport" and then Click on the link "Click here to fill the application form online" under the Alternative 2.

3)After that you have to fill the Online Passport form by following the On-Screen Instructions. The Online form requires Details such as Passport Type, Personal Details, References and Finally Self Declaration.

4) After Submitting the Online Passport form, you have to Manage Appointment and Schedule an appointment Date for submitting the Original Documents at the local Passport Seva Kendra.

5) After scheduling the Appointment, you have to take the Print-out of the Application Receipt containing the " Application Reference Number (ARN)/Appointment Number"  and the same must be produced on the Day of appointment.

6) The Applicants must reach the Passport Seva Kendra at the Scheduled Date and Time along with the Required Documents in Original as well as photocopy.

An Overview of General Conditions under which the Tatkal Passport Scheme can be availed


Tatkal means at the earliest,So Tatkal Passport Facility means getting your passport at the earliest or in short duration of time.In our previous post, we have mentioned the complete procedure for Online Passport Application form
for passport registration and in this post we will describe in detail about How to get your Tatkal Passport using Online Application form

The Tatkal Scheme for getting the Passport is available to those who need passport urgently, but there are certain conditions that specifies the urgency of the situation.We have written all those situation below which specifies that Tatktal Passport can be issued in such a case.

  • The Tatkal Passport scheme works on the principle of FIFO i.e First-In-First-Out. However there is a limit on the number of Passports that can be issued in Tatkal Quota.
  • The Tatkal Scheme will take approximately 4-5 days in between the Date of the form submission and the date of Passport Delivery.However, in case of medical emergency, the request of passport delivery in 1-2 days can be considered
  • The Passport is issued for a period of 10 years (In General Passport) and for a period of 2 years (In Tatkal Scheme) depending upon the police verification
The Tatkal Passport scheme is not available to everyone, i.e anyone with his own will cannot apply for the Tatkal Scheme.This service can be availed only in case of the below mentioned categories:
  • In case of medical emergency, when the patient needs emergency medical treatment.
  • In case of the death of the close relative of the person going abroad.
  • Students who are appearing for examinations such as GRE and SAT.
  • Students going abroad for study in foreign universities.

  • A Person whose close relatives are working in other countries
  • Business men going abroad for trade, conference, trade affairs etc.
  • A person going for marriage of a close relative in other countries.
  • A person who would like to solemnize his/her marriage in other countries and also for Honeymoon after marriage.
  • Persons going abroad for religious tours and pilgrimages.
  • A person who won foreign tickets in case of a promotional awards where foreign travel is offered as a prize.
  • Spouse of official passport holders going abroad and availing companion ticket.
